hello

"So, if you're sponsored by a PR then your dependant ID allows you to work?"

That is correct.

Chinese Citizenship

Citizenship not an option?
I'm married to a Chinese citizen and am a HK PR from the UK.

According to the Chinese Nationality Law, if you have close relatives who are Chinese, or are settled in China, then you can apply.

The downside? You have to give up your other citizenship(s) if the application is approved. (The law says nothing about resuming it though once you've proved that you've renounced it)
