Sending Euros to UK from HSBC account Hi can anyone tell me how to send money (Euros) from our HSBC account in HK to a UK bank account? Can you transfer money direct electronically or ask the bank for a Euro cheque otherwise we will have to convert Euros to HK dollars then send a cheque that will have to be converted again into pounds Sterling, which will be very costly. Regards Barbara

Online banking will do this for you. I assume that your destination account is in GBP so you will be converting from EUR.

You can do an Electronic Funds transfer but be aware that there are likely to be limits on the amount and questions asked if it is large. There is a function on the HSBC HK website to allow you to do this online.

Thanks guys Yes it is a GBP account my own in fact, we have just sold a property in Ireland and have deposited the cheque from the sale into our HSBC account in Hk. I then want to clear my UK visa by placing funds in my UK bank account to cover the balance hence the transfer. I can prove where the funds are from easy enough so that isn’t a problem. Thanks again I will look into it Barbara
