What is the best Phone Card?

Hey all,
I have tried several different phone cards and some are better than others. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best phone card to call NZ and Australia?

For Australia you will struggle to beat PCCW's 0060 or HGC's 0080 at around HK$0.17/min. NZ is a bit pricier.

Note that it is normally dramatically cheaper to call a fixed line than to call a cellular phone in both of those countries.

If you happen to have your own PC i recommend using Skype. I just started using it last week and you can make stupidly cheap phone calls to landlines all around the world using SkypeOut. Even better is if your mate in NZ/OZ has Skype, then it is free! To give you an idea though it's € 0.017 Euro Cent the same as $0.023 or £0.012 per min.

Which is more or less exactly what it costs you using a phone line, and you don't have all the hassle of firing up your PC and so on.

Cheap calls to UK

I found this thread useful so am replying to it ..even though it is slightly old.

IDD, International calls to UK, cheap phone calls to UK.

http://www.ectelecom.com/eng/promotion.htm

This company is doing 24x7 promotional rate calls to these destinations (fixed lines) China, USA , Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Italy,
Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, Switzerland

for 9 cents per minute until 2 July 2006

You can register several lines (mobile and land line) and just dial an access number.

All you need is an address, id card ..they allow several payment methods.
