| | | UK TVs to HK?? What shall I bring?! Hello!
I am moving to HK in October from the UK and would like to know if it is worth bringing my electrical goods, especially TVs with me! Does a UK TV work out in HK? Probably a bit of a stupid question but any help would be appreciated! Any other things people would suggest bringing? I read another thread where someone advised to bring underwear.....good idea!! Any more helpful hints would be great, thanks!

| | | Are you shipping your stuff? If so then put what you can in the allowance you get. If not I wouldn't bother unless the things are new. Yes, tvs and vcrs fully work here as we use PAL I just like you. Voltage and current is the same too as are the 3-pin plugs. We don't use SCART though.
You won't need to bring underwear as we have M&S too!

| | http://www.nowbroadbandtv.com is the only major option - they will have exclusive rights on BBC World/Prime, all the Star/Sky/ESPN channels, etc. from next year.
Plus http://www.cabletv.com.hk if you want English Premier League soccer

| | | That's right don't expect to get any 'regular' UK channels. You can however get a selection of US channels via PDLM's links. | |

| | | That's really helpful, thanks! No need for tons of UK channels as we're moving to HK after all! Just good to know you can get films, sports etc...
Thanks for your help! | |

| | | i disagree about the underwear though...
if you are female and have larger boobs... you will want to bring over extra bras....
i have a hard time finding ones that AREN"T padded and the ones that i can find are either 1) really ugly or 2) way out of my price range!

| | | Just be aware that UK TVs only pick up signals on the UHF band and not on VHF Bands 1 & 3, which miight affect your ability to pick up some stations (notably Guangdong Weishi in my area) | |
