these are big issues, and not really the things u need to discuss with people you dont know in an open forum, or with people who cant see where you're coming from.

actually i think genuine discussion about interesting issues is much better than how tired and bored we are at work. my mind is open...i might not agree with everyone's opinion, but that doesn't mean i am not interested and open. after all, isn't that what forum (hence the name) is about?

ehh, well you know how census data is. It is kind of like voting - not everyone answers so not everyone is counted. I just thought that in general, it should be somewhat close...

The last time I was in NOLA I actually didn't think that the black population was that overpowering, but I only saw a very limited amount of the city as I was there visiting friends at Tulane and I was only there for a couple of days.

Also the young female journalist you mention is Alexandra; the daughter of Nancy Pelosi, the Congress Rep from San Francisco & the minority leader in the House. It was really surprising that Karl Rove allowed full access to her during the 1st term election campaign. And the documentary got some awards as well. The US HBO still carries it in its rotation.
