| My opinion in working in Hong Kong Been in Hong Kong for couple of weeks from Australia, I managed to land my job in one of the local engineering companies. I am a chinese background but the problem i see is that my cantonese is not that well but my english is excellent. Somehow, the people around me do somehow expect me being a chinese to speak some cantonese... which i am learning from private learning school at this moment. Does anyone here have ever encounter these problems when they first come here (assuming that you are not able to speak cantonese) and how do you improve it over time? |

| Congratulations and welcome! Of course you will run into that everywhere you go, they expect you to speak the language since there is no obvious sign that you can't! You can hopefully pick up from your tutor, local media (which can help with alot of the slang), or local (girl)friend, whichever works for you. |
