Palm Treo 650 deals...
Ok.... so who here has senior enough contacts with Palm to hook me up with a highly *discounted* Treo 650. I'm not looking for the $500 "satisfy the cheap bastard" discount, I'm looking for the special deal they had about 6 weeks ago at the road show ...

KIA,

Any indication on what the deal was ? I'm looking for a PDA phone as well and am considering either the treo 650 or a hp 6365.. i know they are different but i'm fine with either a Palm or PPC.

They had a deal of about $3.3K at some launch party or promotion.

HK$3,250 at a show the other month for potential corporate clients. I got one and am very happy with it so far Working out how to set up push email with IMAP, all I need is an unlimited GPRS plan

Actually should have updated the thread. The best option is to wait at the moment, given that some new PDA phones are likely to be made available very shortly and are going to make the 650 look pretty outdated.

Needless to say, even more new stuff will be available next year which will make your x-mas 2005 purchases seem outdated.

The 650 is out-dated already. It doesn't even support wi-fi SDIO cards and who can forgive that external antenna.

External antenna I don't really mind but wifi would be good as long as they could keep the battery life as long as it is now as wifi uses a lot of power. I took my tro on a trip last month and it can go for several days between charges even when used quite hard.

It also needs a bit more internal RAM otherwise it works well for me

It certainly has a lot going for it. I once dreamt of owning one but gave up when I found out how much they wanted for it. eBay was no help once you add the shipping. I love its form factor (antenna aside), keyboard, stable O.S. and excellent screen. The 650 is definately an improvement over the 600 but not a great leap.
