On the topic of mobile phones - (new to HK and looking for mobile obviously) can anyone tell me the name of a good service provider who can do a bundle of a handset and good tariff plan. Thanks

Woolfman: Been happy with Orange and now on Sunday / Vodaphone network. Both are equally good in my opinion... even work in weird fringe areas like TST.

(sorry .. inside joke)

Even CSL is pretty decent, it not better than the two.

Noticed expansys have a 650 deal.

What do you mean Sunday/Vodafone? Do you have two sim cards in your phone?
What made you veer away from Peoples' $128 unlimited gprs plan?

discobay : Sunday / Vodafone -- same network.

The name "Peoples" ... sounded too cheesy and socialist to me.

So Sunday is part of Vodafone which is part of Smartone? Yet the Smartone deals are different from Sunday, are they using the same network?

I will be looking to switch this week anyway, just hope their service works in the boondocks of Shatin

I had heard that PCCW had bought Sunday but I have heard nothing about SmarTone recently.

You sure about that, KiA?

I know that PCCW picked up a substantial shareholding of Sunday a few months ago, but I doubt they'd tie up with Vodafone to provide the service as they already have a presence here with Smartone.

As for "Peoples", well...thank your lucky stars its not the 'real' socialist telecom network across the border.
