Baron: do they still dance the Sirtaki down the street? Break plates on the floor when partying? I have to see that.. Greeks from Greece are just getting too fat to dance... it's a shame!

hangon.. i wonder why there are more melbourners leaving their so great city than there is ppl leaving sydney?

Martykay -- problem is because Melbourne is so great..its getting more and more people wanted to live there..so Melbourners have to leave and explore other cities! While with Sydney...*ahem* ..hehe...

Yeah it is true (since the late 60's i believe). To answer your question Xav, yes to all. One of the only bad things i think the Greeks did, was knock down a lot of beautiful old Victorian/Edwardian houses to build their replica greek palace. So much cement and plaster lions

they could have built beautiful white Greek houses on the sea shore... yeah, Greeks are very proud of their culture, history and language, but I think thay manage to get integrated pretty well wherever they go.

They probabaly brought so much good food as well...

The Greek food in Melbourne is one of the many +'s. The trouble is that there's also a large Italian Population, and the two together don't always mix well...not to mention the Turk's
