Looking for sub $18k/month apartment with views close to Queens Road West which is where my new work is. What is a good apartment building that you guys would recommend?

Good buildings? Lots....

The best one would probably have to be Queen's Terrace, just around the corner from Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan / Sai Ying Poon. Relatively large residential complex with 3 (or 4) buildings, lots of facilities, and not to mention very very very new.

There's also Hollywood Terrace, which has an entrance on Queen's Rd and Hollywood Rd

For someone that will work near Exchange square / IFC area, with a budget of $18K, do people suggest I rent an apartment near Queens Rd West, or in the lower midlevels (i.e, around LKF / Hollywood Rd / Arbutnoth rd) area ?

I suppose you can get a large 2 br apartment for $18K in Queens Rd West (though I only need one bedroom). Lower midlevels will be much smaller and older style apartments, but closer to work and entertainment - am i right ?

I would suggest Mid Levels. You should be able to find something in Soho or Caine Rd too.
