worth prolonging by goin to shenzhen?

i am arriving there in a visit visa, as i'll be given only a 14 day visa, i'd like to go to shenzhen and back once for another 14 day permit. is it too risky or ok? ( i have enough money and would really like to be in HK for around a month and look around for some business) or does this route carry the risk of bein asked too many questions or maybe even turned back?

Go for more than a day, maybe three, and you'll probably be OK

From what i haven been reading on the different threads it doesn't really mather how long you go to Shenzhen or Macau. It is just a mather of crossing the border, but there might be more experienced Expats in this as it seems to be done a lot.

yo turbo,

where you coming from?? what passport do you hold? i remember i got in a dither over this a while back, but just checking thru my passport... even though most the web resources say you'll get a 15 day visa, all of my tourist/visitor visas to hong kong have been for ninety days (most recently was in june). i have an aussie passport. so really you should not need to leave HK and re-enter to extend your visa. however, re getting new visa, i will check, as one of my mates just went to Shenzhen on an aussie passport with a tourist visa - i'll check to see if they were given another visa on re-entry (she only went shopping for a few hours).

do it once; do it not on the last day of the first visa; don't do it a second time. You should be OK.

I actually just tried to go to Shenzhen on Friday. There is a on the spot visa place that caters to most countries. I know there are some countries that can't get a visa on the spot though for mainland (Americans are included).

I went to Macau instead and they didn't care one bit that I came and went. Just took my passport and everything was fine. I'm here on a student visa though, so they may be a little more strict on travel visas.
