| | | Thanks. It is not illegal to hire part-time domestic helpers as long as they are Hong Kong Permanent Residents. It is only illegal if you hire someone who enters Hong Kong with a work visa carrying such restriction.

Elly, is your hourly rate the going rate in HK? I called up the Employee Retraining Board and was told it would cost me HKD$3500 a month for 15hrs work per week (ie 3hours 5 days). If this is the rate, isn;t it better to hire a Phillipino/Indonesian helper who charges the same for full-time work?
Gemini, can you tell me more about yourself and how much you charge?
