| marriage registration/change of status procedures Hello folks, I surfed the immigration website but I am unable to find clarity, hence my post. My fiance and I are planning to get married in Dec. I have heard that a 2-week notice period has to be given before marriage registration can be done. However, the immigration website says something about giving notice "within 14 days prior to 3-months of intended marriage date...". Do people have experience with this? Some clarification would be helpful. Second, after marriage a change of status would be required. How long might it take to convert a tourist visa to a dependent visa? Once marriage certificate papers are produced can they issue a dependent visa within a day or will that take the standard 4 weeks ? Thanks! |
