I dont think that they are on sale yet for the general public of Hong Kong. Far too early. But they will definitely be on sale as part of holiday packages. When the time comes, you can buy the tickets from the HK Stadium in Causeway Bay/Happy Valley and last year there was a shop in the Landmark.

Next years 7's isn't the World Cup like it was this year, so getting tickets shouldn't be half as hard. I've heard next years will start at 5pm on the Friday, and will cost $800 rather than the 1k they cost this year...

yes not the world cup, but tickets are more expensive than previous sevens. its actually $880 instead of the normal $750. inflation sucks. =(

I have no clue. usually around december time, but if you are a member of the rugby and football union it might be earlier.

Lightbulb Rugby 7's

They've decided on the same (ridiculous) ticketing system as for last year (being World Cup obv different).

Quote -
Tickets will first be assigned to all HKRFU Member Clubs to ensure all their members are given priority for tickets and to encourage their memberships to continue to grow. The number of tickets allocated to each club will be based on certain criteria but maximum distribution will be ‘capped’ at 2 tickets per club member. A “Club Recruitment Day” is scheduled for 9th September when each of the HKRFU’s clubs will be positioned at various pubs around Hong Kong to attract playing and social members to their Clubs.

Up to 4 adult tickets per person together with a limited number of children’s tickets will be available. The HKRFU will again appoint Official Travel Agents and Cathay Pacific, the official airline will be supplied tickets for overseas travel packages; the list of the agents officially promoting the Tournament around the world is attached. Tickets will not be available on the internet.

As there will not be the need for an allocation of tickets to the International Rugby Board or Rugby World Cup Ltd in 2006, more tickets will be available for local supporters.

The HKRFU have determined to use this model of ticket distribution – slightly adapted from the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2005 format in order to meet the “sold out” demand that has existed for the past four years and in doing so ensure members of the Hong Kong rugby community and local sevens supporters get the first chance to obtain tickets.

Pricing
The ticket price for the 2006 Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse First Boston Hong Kong Sevens will be HK$880 per adult and HK$300 per child up to the age of 12 years old.

....
For those of not living in HK, and with no contacts in the sports world, easiest way to get tickets is to use an Aus/Kiwi sports tour land package (i.e.hotel and ticket only) as they work out much cheaper than the UK ones (being English, we apparently deserve to pay three times more than everyone else).
