Non-KCR train prices for Shenzhen to Guangzhou

Hello,

Although this is not really a Hong Kong question exactly, it is pretty close. Does anyone know what the cheapest train ticket is if I got from Shenzhen to Guangzhou? I am looking for the China Rail price, not the KCR through train prices. Also can I get a better ticket price if I have a Chinese person buy it for me? Thanks!

Hi,

I took the express (not really but well) Shenzhen - GZ train, the "best" (not really again ha ha) seat was 75 Rmb. They sell u a ticket for a specific train at a specific time if u require, but just sit on the first one leaving, they will tell you in chinese when you board the train that you have to give up the seat if somebody has a ticket for it, but it should be fine, plenty of seats, just say "dui dui dui, zhi dao le" and board the train.

I took the train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou. It was not KCR, but I forget the real name. I do not think there is a website at all. I just went to the ticket counters/windows at Shenzen station, not Lo Wu) and got a ticket by pointing at the departure time I wanted on the guys sheet. I did get a round-trip since I was returning the same day. I used HKD and I do think it was 75RMb or less, but not more than 100RMB I recall.

The trains are more modern and a bit nicer than the normal inter-China trains with the hard back upright seats.

Good Luck.

I usually take the bus from Shenzhen to Guangzhou...right at LoWu. Cheap (65 RMB) and very comfortable..reclining leather seats..just takes an hour or so longer....

I'd take the train every time. Have you seen how those coach drivers cut across traffic on the motorway?
