Weekend Breaks from HK

Hi

Can you recommend anywhere that relatively easy to get to for a weekend break, thinking of somewhere relaxing and easy going, by the beach.

ANy advice would be great - had looked a Koh Samui as I know there are direct flights now but the flights don`t get me back to well for work.

Thanks

The Westin Resort in Coloane, Macau is one of the easiest.

macau is fantastic for a european-style weekend city break, although apart from the westin resort i'm not sure about beach/chill out if that's what you want (anyone else know of a good beach in macau?). but anyway, it's lots of fun, so easy to get to, pretty town sightseeing, casinos, great furniture shopping for half price of HK (and will deliver anywhere in HK even Lamma, unlike IKEA!), amazing food, ferry $200-300, 4* casino hotel $700, 5* westin is around $3,000 pppn. helicopter is only a few thousand dollars i think, but the ferry is great, very fast! plus in macau at the weekend EVERYONE is on holiday so it's a great vibe.

lamma island is also heavenly and only $12/20mins from Central! Waterfront hotel $500 for weekend. good beaches, walking, seafood, pretty girls (not sure about the boys) and you can rent a bike for $100 to charge around the carless lanes. commercial over.

there was a thread on weekend breaks a while ago with some excellent suggestions, Hainan I think was one? and Malaysian east coast islands/beaches, but a struggle to get there and back for monday morning.

Enjoy!

Wow! Sanya looks really nice, I never heard of it before. When you guys book holidays from Hong Kong do you usally use online travel agents? I'm used to walking into the shop but haven't seen one in English yet.

Jeanne, just noticed that all 9 of your posts are about how great Sanyais. Guess you work for united euro travel, I think I'll wait until someone that doesn't stand to make a profit recommends it.
