I was wondering if anyone else on these boards is into sailing. I go pretty much every weekend and sail high performance boats, of which I am on the committee. We're always looking for new blood in the fleet but I realise it's not the easiest to get into as the yacht clubs can be pretty intimidating places.

I could be interested too - am currently rowing with the HK Yacht club and in two minds whether to join - very pricey. So if I can get some sailing in elsewhere would be great. Grew up dinghy sailing - enterprise, laser, topper etc but lately have only gone out in larger yachts.

I've just leased an apartment on Lamma, so will be spending more time bobbing about on inshore waters from Sept 1.

My only experience of real sailing though is as a guest crew member at a Met Police Club regatta in the Solent off Portsmouth, UK, but would be interested to do more if you're happy with raw recruits.

That's 5 new sailors from the boards- hopefully they'll get on boats in the next few weeks.

Membership at Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club isn't too bad if you do the short-term membership. If you do the full membership, then it gets a bit much. Hebe haven yacht Club is a good alternative if you live in the NT's.

I'll be moving there in December and would be pretty interested to give it a go. I've only been on boats that have about 350,000 ton displacement....

I'll be over in November and would love to do some more sailing. I've done my competent (ish!) crew and the RYA 1 and 2 dinghy sailing but would love to put more of that into practice. Would that be possible?

I would been keen to sail. I come out in early October. I have completed my comp Crew cert, and have done the majority of the day skipper too. Would be graet ot get some more experience!
