How hard is it to get a work permit?

hey guys;

I dont have much work experience, all i did before was just some customer service and customer service representative in a bank from Canada. I wonder if it would be difficult to get a work permit if fortunately I got a job in HongKong, just usual entry level jobs. would that be possible?

thank you for all the inputs

Work visas are normally given out to people who generally don't have skills that are readily available in Hong Kong.

Hi, I just read that you are not allowed to work if you have a dependent visa. I'm a HK citizen in Sweden planning to move back to HK. I'm thinking about my Swedish husband, who does not have any formal education (didn't finish high school), but he is a very good drummer. Let's say he gets a job as a drummer in a bar/club. This may not be considered a "full-time/permanent job", but would the bar/club owner sponser him for a work visa? Does anyone have any experience in this kind of situation?

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
I don't think they would issue a visa for a 'drumming job' but hey, anythings possible!

Wahansa : He would be a dependant and if you're a permanent resident he does not need anything other than the dependant's visa to work.

Baron: They do issue entertainer visas... geared towards bands and other entertainers in Hong Kong.

I thought they would expect a club to employ a local talent first, but then again, i guess it comes down to how good they are. A skill's a skill!
