Japanese language teaching

The HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) http://www.hkuspace.hku.hk is currently seeking both part time and full time Japanese language teachers for all levels with possible visa sponsorship. A Japanese teaching certificate is not necessarily required, but teaching experience of some sort is. Feel free to contact me for more information. nicholas.karklins@hkuspace.hku.hk

Good luck.

By the way, when you entered in HKG, how did you find your apartment or a flat? I actually start to work there from mid November. Any advice is appreciated.

Levi

Unfortunately No... My gf and I are still living in Australia. ( I was born in hk but have spent most of my life living in Sydney ). I am still trying to convince her to go back to hk with me ....

LEVI: one option for your gf is to enrol in one of the University courses in HK. My friend told me that HK University welcome people from overseas to study their masters, and the government would actually pay the student around HK$13,000 a month. what a deal ! u should find out more..

Also, I heard that there is a 2 year cantonese course being offered at HKU, but it isnt cheap, I think it cost around HK$60K per year. You'd get to learn how to speak ,write and read chinese, which is not a bad idea as the most important thing for you two right now is to be able to live together in hong kong, and by then she will have the language skills to find a job. If you are earning decent money then it shouldn't be a worry for you, you can concentrate on your work while she's got something to do during the day.

I am quite sure that the employment agencies charge the employers for a commission, but not the applicant. Most employment agencies dont care about you, they are in a business of making commission, its the same everywhere in the world. All they care is how quick they can find someone to place a job and close off the file. They dont want to hear what career goals you have and where you would like to be in the next couple of years....

MORNINGSUN: u can have a look at the following websites, they are one of the biggest real estate agents in hk.

good luck boys

regards

Smile Can anyone help?

My boyfriend is Korean (We met while we were both studying in Japan) and he wishes to come to Hong Kong to work. He's fluent in both Korean and Japanese. His English level is just conversational (still working on it). Does anyone know where we can search for Korean Companies that are hiring? (such as websites, churches) Both of us are Christian by the way. Thanks everyone, any comments and help are appreciated.

Hi,

We've been here just over 2 mths now and my wife has been working for almost 6 wks. I dont think its that difficult for a japanese to find a job in hk. there are so many japanese firms here but not enough japanese workers. my wife went to an interview and got the job on the same day.

sometimes they may also consider your application even you dont have the proper visa. but you will have to find out those japanese company names yourself cos most of the time your application wold be blocked by the agent if u dont have the visa.

I am sure there are jobs for koreans as well. I can see a lot of koreans in my building.

Here are a few names u can go to: Temp Staff, Staff service, Pasona, there are actually more japanese agents around but my wife found the above 3 more helpful.

good luck
