In a pinch, you can always try Fat Angelos (Wan Chai on Queen's Road East, just east of Pacific Place). It's very "chain-like" but is decent and the linguine w/clams in spicy red sauce was actually very good! We thought the lasagne was decent and someone else had the fetticine alfredo, which she said was pretty good but could have been richer.

I'd love to hear from other people on this board the REALLY good places though. We love Italian food and haven't found THE place yet.

Gaia is by far the best- let's not get started on Fat Angelo's again!

LOL! Yeah, it's like comparing a 'McD's' burger to a 'Cul-De-Sac' one with the lot...not even close! But, until you know where these places are you do eat a lot of ordinary food.

Has anyone tried Zeffrino (c/o Regal Hong Kong Hotel)? It is one of the best in Italy. Besides the HK branch seems much cheaper: around HKD 400 per head, while in Italy it is around 100 Eur.

We tried Zefferino at Causeway Bay Branch, and was not impressed, for brunch you had a main course, as well as a SMALL selection of buffet. The pasta was mediocre at best, and you had to wait a LONG time for it to show up at your table, as the cook was waiting to assemble enough similar order to "expedite" the cooking.

Thinking about trying out Grappas at Admiralty or Jasper in Soho. Anybody knows the address or contact info?
