Hey,
Sorry haven't check the forum in a while, did you guys go to BWB? I went there twice this month but there wasn't anything impressive, heard it was good yesterday but couldn't make it. Is there a site that forecasts waves in HK?? write a post everytime you go there so maybe we'll end up going on the same day. Thx

First time on this forum but am planning on moving to HK on Jan 1st not knowing anyone and am also keen to surf when I get there.

Please let me know when you're planning on heading out to the sea (post a message or something) as I'd love to come.

Hey i heard that you can actually hire boards down at the beach. Haven't seen them with my own eyes but i'm positive they won't be all that exciting. Bringing you own would be a save bet but the surf here doesn't get large to often.

Nov surf

Hi - I am in HK for a week from 14th Nov and looks like there may be some swell during that time. Don't really want to bring my board over for one surf and wondered if anyone knew where I could borrow/rent one? I surf a 6'2", but anything will do! Thanks

boards

If some one wants to buy a board I have a 5'11 Al Merrik Flyer and a 6'2 Aloha swallow tail. Both medium thickness boards. $1800 per board in OK condition. I live in Big Wave Bay so if you want to have a look drop me a line. Thanks.

A practical, if slightly embarrassing, question: I'll be moving to HK in the new year, but my car won't be coming with me. So how do I get my board to the beach? The MTR-bus combo can't possibly work, and I imagine most cab drivers would cough up a lung when confronted with a 9-foot longboard. Help.

zizou,
you asked the question i was thinking of...
i wont be there until the 4th of this month and my boards wont be there until sometime in january...
but i was wondering on how to get my longboard down to the beach also...
maybe rent a van and drive i guess, that was what i was planning on doing
i dont think the mtr would be very happy if i got on with something that big.
Once my boards get there i was planning on seeing if anyone here would be willing on going in on a trip to the beach. i figure if someone has a van or truck rented it would be a lot easier to just head out that way

I take my board in the bus, in the mtr, in taxis, in minibus, they're usually impressed so they don't say anything and if you're polite there really are no worries, I never had any problems and I've done it dozens of times
