I will be moving to HK in 1-2 month, and from this web site, I find that I don't really need, or should I say I cannot, bring most of the electronics (DVD, TV, CD, etc) from California to HK, cause they won't work there. My Q is: what about computer? I have one new Sony Vaio desktop, just 6 months old, can I use it in HK?

Do the computer and monitor have a dual voltage power supply? If yes, then bring them. The last time I'd checked on some Sony desktops, I could not find a universal power supply on the ones being sold in the US. On the other hand, you should be able to switch the power supply by taking the computer into one of the comp center and paying like $200-400.

It might cost more than that as a good branded power supply will cost that figure. You could do it yourself - it's very easy. PM me for instructions.

Bring yer 'puters back Brought my laptop to H.K. when I moved here from Canada. Works fine. Newer computers automatically change voltage anyway. You may want to get an adaptor though 'cause Hong Kong plugs have different shapes. That's about it and every else should work fine.
