work permit process

Hi!

It has been already 4 weeks and a half that my futur employer started the work permit application (IB for a IT position with master degree and previous experience working in Asia). Any idea, by experience ,of how much more it will take?

Thanks in advance!

its almost two months now when my employer submitted my application for work permit. got a letter from them once, in which they asked for more documents, almost similar to ones that were already submitted, and when i enquired, they said, it will take atleast 4 more weeks, depending on the no. of applications.

all the best.

Thanks, then I guess I have no other choice than to wait for another couple of days/week.

Immigration normally say between 4/6 weeks. Give it 6 weeks and then ask your employer to contact them.

This is peak season for Employment Visa applications so I guess the wait is stretched a bit... but much more than 6 weeks is quite unusual.

I got my workpermit approved 2 weeks ago. After I handed in papers twice. All and all it took about 2 months. To be able to activate it I had to "leave" the country. So I went to Macau last Saturday, if you still remember the weather that day. I can tell you it wasn't fun.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I will wait for a bit more time and contact them again if it really lasts too long
