| | | women in hk Have you just recently moved to HK?
I am conducting social research regarding the experiences that unemployed women from non-Asian countries go through while adjusting to a new life in Hong Kong.
Would anyone be willing to fill out an easy questionairre?
Your help would be appreciated.

| | Why does a housewife need a questionaire filled up?
Assuming your request is genuine, you might want to get in touch with the women at awa.org.hk and distribute your questionaire at their coffee morning.

| | | thank you I will. Are there more foriegn organizations for women besides AWA?
"Housewife" is my inside joke... this is how immigration labelled me (I am a student, but not studying in an HK university-- so this is what they indicated on my profile!)

| | I let the immigration department label me "unemployed" vs housewife. . not much better. Except for the non-asian part in your requirement, I would qualify . Good luck on your paper. | |

| | | If you are from a non-Asian country, you qualify- your ethnic background doesn't matter, it's more about what society you come from, and adjusting to a new one. | |

| | | Matt, it is a gender specific study. Scientific, not personal. But I would be happy to consider your perspective if you have some insights that would be pertinent.
Tell me about your experience moving to HK then...

| | | Canadian Club can help Hi there,
I'll send a note out to Canadian Club members and put it on our website.
I knew a woman who did her Master's Thesis at HKUST on a similar topic. Just checked the UST library and the title is: "The unexplored myth of culture shock : the disempowerment of expatriate faculty wives" (Hackett, Margaret Maria 1999). If you are interested, there's a copy in the main library collection for borrowing.
Cheers!
