Prata in LKF - that's Co Co Curry House. Completely different. They serve Malaysian food but really expensive. I hear they have teh tarik as well but again, it is not difficult to make your own teh alia. India Curry House is in the building above them.

Question Curious about...

Hi All,

I am a Singaporean here and I am quite young 23 (just out of NUS last yr haha) and have been in HK for a few months only.

I saw this post and is curious - how many Singaporeans have met up together so far? Are there many and what is the age range?

I am interested in meeting up with all of you but I am quite shy haha..

Ooh I would love some Hokkien Prawn Mee, Prata etc etc tooo.....*home-sick*

Paratha

If you want to have authentic India food the one I liked was
- Indian Village - Mid levels
- Delhi Gate - Mid levels

Dont forget to go to Citysuper food court - Indian stall in Times Square and Ocean terminal.

cheers

I just saw this post. Didn't realise there are so many Singaporeans & Malaysians in HK. I am Singaporean and hubby is Malaysian. We are moving to HK in Oct and hubby is already lamenting the loss of opportunity to eat Indian leaf/Malay rice, prata at free will. Now I can tell him he doesn't have to worry.

Any more pending gatherings?

I will be posted to HK for one year starting next month. My salary will be paid in SG hence I will need to bring some money to HK for my expenditure of first few months there. Wish someone here can help to advice on the below as I have totally no clue on how to start in HK.

1) What are the documents required to open a bank account in HK?
2) Which bank has the best offer to transfer money from SG to HK? I plan to transfer the money from SG after I have open the account in HK and need to make the transaction every month thereafter.

Thanks for the help in advance.

1) Need Proof of address and passport with Visa stamp. That is what I used
2) If like convenience and don't mind a few cents less on the conversion then nothing beats HSBC (I use them and its hassle free)

Great to know that, thanks, Belinda! We spent 6 years in Singapore recently and loved their food! I miss all those wonderful open air food courts and hawker stalls... Cheap and tasty stuff!
