I'm after a plasma TV. Where is the best place to get the best deal?

Apologies if there's been a similar thread but I did a search under "plasma" and nothing came up.

Thanks. Are the prices their competitive? My understanding is that CWB tends to be a bit more expensive than areas like TST or Mongkok because of the rent differential.

Also, are there any shops which put their prices up on the internet? I did a google search for plasma TVs and to my shock found that the price of an identical model in Australia was actually cheaper... surely this cannot be right?!

Look for the smaller shops which are not at street level.

Most of these shops (like Derek) keep very little inventory, so you need to do your research before you get there. I've generally been able to beat him down on pricing and it works out 20-25% cheaper than Fortress.. again depends on what product you're trying to buy.

Oh yeah, make sure you know your prices before you deal with anyone .. including New Lee... and try and bargain.

Cool, but problem is im new to HK so I would have no idea where to find these "hidden" shops!

Any tips on how to bargain people like Derek down on price? I actually gave me a call just now and he gave me what seemed to be a reasonable price but I wasn't really able to get him to go any lower than what he quoted. I presume if I went there in person then I'd have a better chance?...

You normally would go "ok.. if you can lower the price to this level here's my EPS card or cash or check .... "

Phone enquiries usually will get you a higher price .. as they are not sure if you're going to buy, if its a competitor checking in on pricing etc ..

Unfortunately no first hand recommendations. I'm a creature of habit and once I like a place I tend to give up looking for new ones...

u can search it in Fortress,Kings Road(Next to Kings Road Post Office),
a display sale is going on thr. Maybe thr u cud find what u want. the prices are great.
