| | | Real Head Hunters in HK I'm Canadian, currently living and working in HK but looking for a new job and change of industry. I've changed industries a few times and have quite a number of transferable skills. Point being that I wanted to sit down with a head hunter and explain what I've done and what I'm looking to do and discuss options.
I've contacted Michael Page, Manpower, Kelly Services, Links recruitment...etc and they're all the same: "Send us your resume and when we have a match we'll call you."
But I don't WANT a match!
I want to transfer my skills to something new.
Does anyone out there know a real head hunter with whom I can sit down and discuss my situation???
Thanks a million. | |

| | | Send a private message to cprosper (I've known him for several years now and he's a pretty competant person. Not sure if he deals with the areas that you're looking at, but he should be able to guide you.) | |

| | | Headhunters - the facts Headhunters are retained by clients to find people for jobs not jobs for people, hence the fact you don't feel they are giving you much time. The minimum fees a headhunter charges their client will be in excess of HK$3m, or around one third of the package the candidate will earn in his first year. So basically, a big headhunter like Heidricks or A. T Kearney will handle roles where the salary will be HK$9m plus. Michael Page etc operate at a slightly lower level.
But don't ignore their request for a CV, you will go on their database and when a role comes up, they will contact you. So register with as many as you can, they may not help this time but it is always a good thing to be on their database for the future.
Good luck with your job search. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 06:39 AM. | |
