| | Apartment for under $7000? Is it wishful thinking? Am I fooling myself thinking that I might be able to get a studio or 1 br somewhat decent apartment on HK Island for under $7000/month? I am coming to HK for 1 or possibly 2 years. I dont need a lot of space and my employer is not providing any kind of housing allowance.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

| | | not likely in HK island unless it is remote...
but u might get lucky in TST. it isn't that far away. a local friend managed to get an apartment in TST for 6.5K. two people are living there. or try further out if price is a concern. the MTR is fast so being further away is not too much of a problem.

| | | You can get a small high-rise flat in Discovery Bay for that kind of money but it is a 25 minute ferry ride to Central ... and there is no nightlife for singles in the community. | |

| | | It is just possible in some older buildings in certain areas of HK island, Wanchai or Western maybe. Another friend of mine has a one bedroom, (500sq ft) near the Tung Wah hospital in Sheng Wan for just over 5k. | |

| | | Forget TST. There seems to be a major shortage of flats for rent and the cheapest rents are roughly 9-10K these days. Most of these flats are in the rundown older buildings like Mirador and Carnavon Mansions. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 11:40 AM. | |
