Just wondering how long it took you all to get a job here - particularly those of you who needed a work visa!?

I learned about the job opening last August 22. Sent my CV, got an interview so went to HK on 9 Sept. Then was offered the job 14 Sept. They are now processing my work visa.

Yes! I'm a newbie. Still waiting for my work visa though, so I'm just hanging around and doing the 'tourist stuff'!

I guess I was just lucky with finding a job in HK, it wasn't like I was looking for one. Networking is the best!

finding wasn't too hard, maybe two weeks with previous correspondence over a period of a month or so.

4 months. It depends what line of work you are looking for and your experience etc etc

2 months of research and interviews and 2 monhts waiting for the visa.

Depends on how well you do your homework....

If you have your research well and have previously contacted some employers then it'll take you less than a month (maybe even a few weeks!).

If you haven't,...well...that's anybody's guess.

My personal experience? 2 weeks....after some serious networking (read:buttkissing), of course.

Thanks, I'm actually working now. Took a couple of months. Lots of research, networking, interviews etc.
