| Bars with Members Only signs Why do some bars have 'Members Only' signs outside of their bar? It it so they can bypass some sort of zoning issue? |

| Sometimes to do with licensing laws (e.g M at the Fringe needs a $15 temporary membership of the Fringe Club) and sometimes just as a means of keeping people out that they don't like the look of when business is good (e.g. as [practised at Feather Boa). |

| yes there are different sorts of licenses, the conditions are lighter when its a private lounge license. The hours depends on the neighbourhood. |

| i just saw one last night that was korean and japanese only..... it said it in big letters...and said for everyone else to stay out... i was tempted to piss em off and peek in to see what they were up to...but i thought i might want to stay alive a few more days...so decided not to |
