Why can't we see who's currently viewing a thread anymore?

It was useful feature to have to see if someone may, or may not, reply soon to a thread, and whether or not better communication can be achieved by waiting a few minutes.

If anything else, it certainly didn't hurt, did it?

There is a lot of SEO (Search engine optimization) related work going on ... the viewing threads bit was considered ... err .. fluff. We're trying hard to put focus on the content and are removing a fair number of features which distract from the content.
