We are considering a move from Jakarta to Hong Kong but are unsure of the housing and what to expect in terms of comparison with Jakarta - any ideas of how to get a real feel of getting the "lay of the land" would be appreciated.

we just moved about 6 weeks ago from Tokyo to HK. HK has a lot to offer but where you live depends on the kind of lifestyle you want to lead, how much you want to splash out etc. If you have kids then a lot of the decision on where you live will be governed by the schools catchement area.

Post some more info on your situation here and I am sure you will get good info flowing.
