| | Prepaid Sim Cards in HK How much is the cheapest prepaid sim card in HK? Will it allow international calls and international text messaging? Can anyone give the approximate rates charged when a prepaid sim is used to make international calls and send international text messages from HK?
Thanks in advance. | |

| | | Check the various Filipino places in Melbourne plaza in Central or the places in Chung King. There might be special deals from the lower end telcos.
I seriously don't think there is such a thing as "the cheapest card"... they all end up being the same at the end of the day with marginal differences. | |

| | | no expert but... We were there two weeks ago and bought a prepaid sim for HK$100 which had IDD and international roamimg. Calls in HK very cheap and managed to phone home to Australia (quickly) a few times before needing a recharge. I also received a call from HK on it today in Australia. Any 7eleven store sells them. | |

| | | Quick question: Will the stored value of the prepaid card be deducted if I receive international calls? | |

| | | Yes, 3 is offering 2 SIM cards for $99. Actually it might even be less than $99--i forgot how much it was but I know it was under $100. I bought mine at their main office in Central at the end of May, so not sure if the deal has expired or not. | |

| | | I bought a smartone one from 7-11 for like $180, but the card offers no ability to do international calls. Or at least, if it does, I haven't figgured out how to work it =) | |
