New to Yau Ma Tei (Jordan Road)

Hi everybody. I'm Paul 28 from the UK (Newcastle) and as the title suggests new to Yau Ma Tei and Hong Kong. I'm a great place there and hoping that there are more English speaking foreigners in the area that might like to meet up for coffee/beer/food and a good natter sometime soon. I'm don't know many people and looking to meet some great new pals to enjoy the HK experience. Hope to hear from you soon!!

Hello Paul,

I'm not exactly in YMT but further in the North.

A good start to make new friends would be to go to the ladie's night in Wanchai district, there are plenty of friendly English-speaking foreigners.

Cheers
Mia

Oh dear, Mia may be being sarcastic or simply deliciously ironic

Paul there are many Brits in HK if you want a night out on the town many people will post for get togethers in Wan Chai or LKF on Friday night/the weekend... Perhaps you should be even more specific than coffee/food/beer and arrange a get together yourself via geoepxat, good luck and if you meet any Germans don't mention the war

Ask for Callum, he's a manager there, He's a Manc (Manure) and the same age as ya.

Thanks for the response guys. I have heard about the delights that Wan Chai has to offer and will definately have to leg it from the office in time to check out JB's for the cheap booze. Where is a good place to head for good atmosphere and madness in LKF - or are we just talking everywhere and anywhere???

6-8 is crazy hour / 8-10 pm is happy hour in JB's so you still have plenty of time.

Fingers crossed, I think I have a ticket sorted for Friday 7's and heard that it is not to be missed. I'm really looking forward to a baptism of fire HK style

Ah Friday is not that busy in the 7's as its a work day so the atmosphere is just starting but it should start getting crazy in the evening, Sunday is usually the best and craziest as some people will still be drinking from Sat and try to make the most of it. Did that about 5 years ago, the 7s was just a blurr, waking up on Monday was a killer, luckily I had already taken that day off.

I'll be going on Sat this time so that i can recover on Sunday at home.

Some of the best events are just a blur and I fully intend to do my absolute best to mix in with everybody - when in Rome and all!!!
