Normally it's a Customs & Excise thing, but what sort of products do you have that need such a document? Since HK is a tax-free zone on pretty much everything (except alcohol & tobacco) I can't see why you would need one.

Now you might need one for temporary import into wherever you are taking them, but that would be an issue for the customs & excise regime there.

thanks a lot.
i was just asking for to enhance my knowledge, as i dint know about that. btw, my company,GDC Technology, deals in Digital Cinema Equipments(servers and projectors and other stuff), and for that they export the items temporarily when participating in exhibitions and shows. for that they use carnet. so was just asking, so that, if i get employment visa, i dont have to worry at that time.

No issue taking that sort of stuff in and out of HK freely. There is no VAT and no excise duty on electronics. This is one reason why HK is a good regional hub for this sort of business.

But you would need to investigate the temporary import rules for whichever country you wanted to take them to temporarily - many countries in the region do have VAT and/or import duty on electronics.
