Hiten is on a distinguished road
Thumbs up

Hello there happy people!

Well there have been so many nice reviews on this thread [which turned even nicer with GF's comments in his second post…u get an Erdinger for that GF - ], so I thought I’d post a couple of reviews myself!!!

Well we’ve talked about…Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, French, etc, etc….but not American! And the first original American food that comes to mind is the STEAK! and one of the best places I’ve had a steak in HK is “Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse” ( G/F, Lippo Centre, Admiralty & G/F Empire Centre, Mody Road, TST East). Probably the most succulent cuts & of the highest grade! The starters are excellent too…I’d highly recommend the “barbeque shrimp” & “the shrimp cocktail”. They have an array of vegetables, potatoes, soups and salads on their menu as well, but I recommend that you jump after the soup and starters to the main-course (STEAKS) as they are simply out of the top drawer! Of course, the food will always taste even better with a glass or two of cabernet!! & if u still have the energy n space in that tummy….the deserts are simply divine!! All this with an expert staff that is really top notch and knows about the food they serve!!
All of this is not cheap though and infact comes at a pretty hefty price! Nonetheless, the place is highly recommended and definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been there before!

An Indian restaurant that deserves a mention is Gaylord (23-25 Ashley Road, TST). Very nice ambience and very good cuisine as well! The tandoori rotis and infact all the other breads are really really good…and for me to enjoy my Indian food…good bread is a prerequisite! The restaurant has an extensive menu and very fine vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes! I think they have a buffet lunch for around $100…and have live Indian music (ghazals etc) at night! Worth a visit!

Been to Gaylords once and didn't like it at all.

The carpet is old and seems to add to the smells of Indian food.

Food was ok, your typical greasy north indian food.

I really have to try out Vedas.
