I am a newbie and will be here for 6 months for internship..does anyone know if there are tennis clubs around.. i want to make myself usefull and learn the sport...maybe make some new friends too.. if i am lucky
If you want to book a tennis court, the cultural services department has places where you can play tennis. You can also look for friends whose buildings have tennis courts.
The private clubs can get pretty expensive (not sure about the South China Athletic Association.. might be reasonable).
I play regularly on weekends - not with a formal club per say - but on an organized social basis where I pay HK200 per 2 hour game and someone takes care of court booking, balls, and organising. The group is divided into an Intermediate and Advance session and there is one of each session on Saturday and Sunday. The games are usually played at Bowen Road Tennis Centre, sometimes as Causeway Bay Sports Ground, and ocassionally at Victoria Park.
