How do you react when you have missed your flight?

I have missed flights on a few occasions...

I used to have to get a 6:25 East Midlands - Dublin flight each Monday morning. I only lived a 15 minute drive from the airport, so I left it as late as I possibly could to leave my house...

It got to the stage where I would leave home at 05:40...

On occasions I just pushed my luck too much & boarding was closed by the time I got to the gate...

All my own fault! And the 2nd time I did it my boss was not at all impressed... In fact thats part of the reason I have been sent out here I believe!

I'm just glad that she lost her marbles on the ground, instead of in flight Hopefully they check her into Castlepeak Hospital, instead of the next flight as the ground crew seems to promise...

Not sure what she thought she'd achieve by that impressive tantrum. Did she think they'd even think about letting someone on who is clearly deranged? I'm sure she would have been arrested or at least taken away by airport security in most other countries!

You can tell it's HK by the fact that no one gets involved or tries to calm her down, apart from the people she is travelling with.

I have seen people reacting like this when someone has departed from life but never for missing a departing flight..

I once sat behind a similar type who had flown through 15 time zones and 4 feedings of ´western´veggie stuff and she wasn´t going to take it any more; all she wanted was a roti and a bit of daal, which of course was beyond the scope of the airline.
One dreads to think of what she would have done if she had had any meat in her diet.

and I love how the men she's with look embarrassed, but too scared of her to do anything.

How do we know that she wasn't late because she only just booked the flight, having learnt of some huge reason why she needed to fly (illness, death etc etc)? if this was the situation, I can easily see why someone, already traumatised by some news, might react this way. We just don't know. I'd be willing to suspend my ridicule just long enough to find out.
