macau for the day. you can even go on one ferry and turn around and get on the next one back if you don't want to stay in macau for the day.

All depends on your situation, for example you are single and entering hong kong on a vistors visa ,once is okay, 2 times, they will begin to suspect you , 3 times and customs will definetly hold you up and ask questions.

AND customs can pull records off there systems showing when you departed and entered hong kong.
Its not the best idea to take the ferry arrive in macau and head straight back to hk, because they can see that on the time record.
at lesat stay overnight or two.

MACAU is the easiest option.
if you have time , then apply for entry to mainland china..takes 2 weeks, i think .
then take the train up to sheng zhen, stay overnight, all travel, food and expenses are cheaper then macau. and would work out much cheaper.

sorry i misread the post and assumed that she had the new sticker for the passport and needed to know how to get it into the passport...

it's been 9 years since i had to make a visa run, but when i last did it, i did just get off one ferry and then get on the next one back...thing have probably changed since then...

depending on your passport(eg. US passport), shen zhen COULD work out to me much more expensive

Should be ok, as long as Macau has visa free access for Indonesian passport holders.
