Janewiches ,

I went to the KLN Brasilian Jiu Jitsu club yesterday, for an open mat session. The guys at the club are very friendily and passionate about the art.

The place is clean and quite decent in size. The club is co-owned by four guys. The club is non-profit and has a shower.

They have a ladies class on Sat, 14:00. Apparently there's a few Japanses ladies that do the class. You are welcomed to do the general class too of course.

Monthly fee is $500 for unlimited, 6days a week training. I think you can get bulk sessions, that works out to $60 each.

The school's address is 13/F, Perfect Complex building, Austin Ave...closest MTR being Jordan.

If you need to know more just let me know.

Gyms in HK - there are many "great deals" out there, but I think the best thing for you to do is go into each gym and ask for a daily/weekly pass and try all of them out for yourself. I recommend PureFitness, California Fitness, Fitness First, and YWCA/YMCA...the others around can get very "local", and if you are looking for more than workout machines, to actually create a network of friends, try the first one on the list - quality service & quality members - can't go wrong with PURE @ 2IFC .

Try out Pure Fitness - it's above those two, most people who have seen it has moved on...those others have peaked and now heading downhill...read the other threads youself.

You sound like a sales rep!! LOL!! Maybe you should apply for a job from them...I'm sure FF is nice, but I still stand with HK Mag's ratings...Pure Fitness has it all & more...see for yourself.

Pure Fitness is charging a little more than the others, but you are paying for first class service and because of its fees, it doesn't every get as crowded as the other gyms...

Wink Lol

No, but as I've said, I am in the industry and I've been di**ed around before by those other gyms, I am very passionate about the health industry and I don't think anyone should have to go through the process in the dark. Love to share, sharing is caring.

Thanks for all that! I think I might have been thinking about a different bjj place in Yau Ma Tei... It's called the Hong Kong Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association. Their head instructor is a purple belt that I met ... oh a year and a half ago.

Their website is http://www.hkbjj.com/hkbjj_new/index.html

I think their prices are pretty reasonable. Membership is $300 annually.. plus a monthly unlimited membership of $400. But I think I'd do the individual classes, $80 a class for non-members.

I've been dedicating all my free time to yoga lately, but I think I might go back to bjj soon enough.

osu.
