Hey Daisy
I am from london coming over in October. Are you flat hunting from London, or have you taken a trip over to do it? If the former, what methods are you using?

thanks
Claire

Hi people..
i'm a bbc coming over next week, can't wait!
i've been flat hunting for so long, it does give me an idea of the places I might be renting out..
Sheung Wan or North Point seems to be quite good for my budget..
does anyone know how long does it take to get to Central from North Point?

About 15 mins on the MTR plus however long it takes you to get to and from the stations at each end.

Er, what? I can't believe that even now there is more alcohol consumed in London than in LKF and Wanchai?

hmmm... think - soho

Anyway, i mean the Culture of drinking

The whole as soon as something (anything) is over/finished everyone goes for a drink or two together, or when there is a need to kill time everyone goes to t pub...

Doesnt seem to happen here, maybe thats just my experience...

Actually that's very true.

I moved here from Tokyo where any day is a good day for a drink.

I find that in HK it is very difficult to get the locals in the office out for a drink. Why is that ?

according to an old flat mate of mine of chinese descent (both parents were from HK) the chinese lack an enzyme that enables them to process alcohol - so they get drunk really quickly.

Perhaps this is why drinking isnt part of the culture here, though im not going to let that stop me...
