Hi,

Anybody can tell me what's the letter that is shown in HK ID stands for? The letter shown "CFOYN" and below it, another letter "H1."

What the letters CFOYN mean. The website does not say much about that.

Thank you Kostas for the reply. I checked out the website but did not mentioned the rest of the letters, my gues is that this is the latest code. The one in my HK ID was issued before the handover. At least the letters description gives me an idea.

The important letter code is the first one which in your case is the 'C'. People with ROA have 'A'.

C = Conditional, U = Unconditional, A = Right of Abode

F/M = Female or Male

Used to know what the O and Y stood for.

O = born overseas
Z = born in HK
Y = birth certificate or other proof of birth exists
