hey guys me and my mum wanna get away from HK for a long weekend on the beach. about 3 or 4 days. where is the nearest and most ex-pat friendly place easy to get to by short flight?

You should check out deals to Thailand. Not too far and usually good deals.

How about Bintan Island, Indonesia? Flight to Singapore then 1 hour ferry ride to Bintan - a bit of a trek + INdonesian visa required but very beautiful and relaxing.

great pool, blue seas, food is ok plus you are pretty much stuck in the hotel resort but if you are looking for a relaxing few days then I would recommend it.

i went to Cebu, about 2 weeks ago, didnt really find that place that nice.

Also check out Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. This place is beautiful and not to far away.

Try The Racha Resort (just a short boat ride from Phuket) I stayed there in Dec. and it was great. But then again, anywhere in phuket can be fun.

It does look at good as the pics. Only downside (and it's not that bad) is that visitors do arrive by boat for day trips to lounge on the beach in front of the resort.
