Hong Kong vs. Sydney

Hi,

If you have a choice to live in Hong Kong or Sydney, which would you choose and why?

Trying to make a choice here on where to move to, your advice and opinions would greatly be appreciated, thanks!

I live in Adelaide.

I'm in Sydney at the moment for a holiday. Been to HK, both Sydney and HK are pretty good places so hard to choose.

I like HK a bit better but have never lived there for a long time so not sure whether I'd still like it living there.

So for those who've lived in both cities, which one would you recommend for lifestyle, job, transport, shopping, family, etc.

I'm enjoy sport, a little bit of night life, love eating out.

If you want to make money: HK

If you want night life: Anywhere but HK.

Sydeny seems like less hassle, plus you dont have to stress about food, drink, work permits, local culture and holidays bla bla etc etc I could go on forever

Sydney does seem to be a nicer and more settled city but doesn't seem as 'alive' as HK.

I generally also like living in tall apartments which there are plenty in HK. Does anyone know how many Chinese backgroundy people there are in Sdney?

Anyway, thanks for the opinions, please anyone else keep it coming as I want more opinions especially those who live in Hong Kong and have been to Sydney. If this is any help or just for your interest, I work in the airline industry - Pilot.

Either we are talking about a different Hk, or you are being highly sarcastic or alive has a totally different meaning.

I have seen more life in a chinese morgue that in the so called night life. But saying that I have lived in amazing countries before that provided full scale entertainment to the willing.

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
Sydney has a large Asian population. Its an over-rated, overpriced city with pretty bad dining and bad planning...but i'm from Melbourne, the greatest city in the world! HK for me is what you make it. If nothing else its a very safe city with great food and drink. A good city to meet up with others and hang out, not to mention shop!

Baron, I'm with you. Sydney is too much of a "London wannabe" place. Don't care for it ... did enjoy living in Manly for 3 months .. once upon a time.

Great place Melbourne .. spent many a day in South Yarra and many a night on Lygon.

Could not deal with shops closing at 6pm in the CBD though.
