| Smallest Irish Pub in HK I'd heard about this one before but got a chance only last night to check out what must be the smallest irish pub in HK. This is the Katie O' Connor's Irish Pub at the Arrival Hall at Chek Lap Kok airport. ( Ph: 2136 0690)
Seemed like a decent place for a drink while you wait for your flight. Low celing ( Yao Ming will have to bend double to enter this place) , hanging lamps, wood beams, a small interesting looking bar with semicircular niches carved out on the wall, wood panelling, the usual Irish bar knick-knacks and Guinness posters. Really small in size inside though there are seats outside as well. Pint of Guiness was $62 and a pint + a shot of Jameson's Irish whiskey was $ 80. Other beers on tap: Harp. Kilkenny, Carlsberg. Food: Sandwiches, fried mussels, fish n chips, chicken cordon bleu, shrimps Thai style etc. Snacks in the $45 range; main courses in the $60 - $85 range. Steady stream of visitors when I was there - about 10 at night. Opens at 7 am, presumably for people who drink Guinness before breakfast, and runs on till 12 pm. |
