| | | serviced apts....recommendations??? moving to HK mid July and looking to stay in a serviced apt for 2 - 3 mths before we decide where we want to live.
We have a 7 mth baby, hence need somewhere with child/ baby friendly facilities....
Can anyone comment on the Ellipsis in Happy Valley or Pacific Pallisades? Any other suggestions? Looking to spend around $40k for a reasonably spacious 2 bedder (I guess 1000 sf) No futher than 20 mins from the action and would prefer HK island.
Also can you negotiate on price?
Cheers

| | | I think that the Marriott Hotel in Pacific Place, Admiralty has serviced apartments - very central. I think that with the budget of HK$40k per month - there is a lot of choice! | |

| | | Suzie,
You should definitley check out Pacific Place.
I haven't been to Ellipsis but from their website it doesn't look very kid-friendly.
Pacific Pallisades is part of a residental complex and its HUGE. They've got a swimming pool, kids playground etc. Its very popular with the Japanese expats.
Its 15 mins from Causeway Bay.

| | | Serviced apartments You should check Manhattan Heights, Kennedy Town (Western District).
OK, it's a very Chinese area but this block offers sea views/or mountain views, has pool, gym, shuttle bus (7 mins to Central IFC transport hub in the mornings) and apartments are 1/2/3 bedrooms.
Local agents also offer un-serviced apartments here from $13000. Mix of tenants with many Expat professionals.......lots of teachers.

| | | I stayed in Manhatten Heights for the first month I was here, it wasn't bad, the local area has everything I needed to support myself resource wise. There is tram transportation when the building shuttle stops moving, or of course taxi's busses. A kennedy town terminus is just down the street from it.
Other than size I can't really complain about MH, though, it was probably bigger than where I wound up. I think it was 15k a month for the serviced deal, one bedroom.

| | | Cheers Paulwg.....erba only has 1 bedders/ studio accommo. Given we have a bub we also need the extra room/ closed study for her. Nice tip - stairs are no good for us!
Have a short list the hubby will check out next week, so if anyone has any experience of the following that would be most helpful;
Sharma - Soho
Belgravia - Mid-levels
Eaton House - Happy Valley
Mmmmm finding the $40k doesn't really stretch that far!

| | | Cherry Crest. There's a brand new block of apartments in midlevels Sheung Wan.
It's called Cherry Crest I think. Its in Kui in Fong Street.
Next to a small quiet school and overlooking a park.
3 bedrooms, pool and club house. 10 min walk down hill to Sheung Wan station and about 7 mins to Staunton street action in Soho.
Very nice green area and full of nice windy streets. I'd love it, but prices start at $20,000 p m.....too much for me, but very attractive location. Find agents in Google under Cherry Crest. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 02:12 PM.
