Can I rent an apartment with a tourist visa?

Hi

Am wondering if I can rent an apartment with a tourist visa. If not I guess finding someone to share with is a possible solution.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Simon

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
If they think you are here as a tourist, what would you need with renting an apartment? They would be pretty suss i think. Best to just look for someone sharing a place and move there.

Red face

I do not think house owners want to rent apartment to Tourists as they usually ask for a 1 year contract. More than that they ask 2 + 1 Months rent in advance. Best way as baron said is to look for a sharing apartment or try some service apartment that can be expensive sometimes...Look in the forum for some shared accommodation availability..

it depends..

I am an owner and I prefer to rent on short-term to tourists or people just staying few weeks or months. I like the flexibility it offers. No deposit is required for less than a month on short-term.

Isaluc - Would you like to rent to me?

Isaluc,

I am a British citizen working in here in Tokyo and looking for a place to rent for a month or two until I get settled there. I am a professional, quiet and reliable person. If you would like to talk more please mail me at: bunkyo321321@hotmail.com

Thanks
