Smile Can I travel to Shenzhen with a dependent visa?

Dear everyone: I just arrived in Hong Kong this week with a dependent visa. Since the expiration date of the visa is in November, which is less than 180 days, so I was told that I don't need to apply for a Hong Kong ID.
Since my husband usually use his ID card and work visa to go back and forth to Shenzhen, I am wondering if it is ok for me to travel to Shenzhen only with my passport and the dependent visa. Your experience and advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Welcome to HK Twinstar!

I can't verify the original info for you but I do know that you need a visa for China in order to go to Shenzehn. Your dependants visa is only for HK. It takes a few days and the cost varies depending on where you're from. I can tell you where I got mine if you need it (Admiralty area).

Good luck settling in.

Whatsername, Probably you misunderstood her question.
I think she understands that she needs visa for china but not sure whats her status with dependant visa but without ID... Well, i guess in any case you can definitely go with your husband even without ID and in fact the duration of your dependant visa doesnt really matter.
Morever, you can get visa at Lowu also, doesnt take too long.....

If you're American you can't get a China visa at the border.

I want to ask your suggestion for the flight schedule and a feasible route. Actually I want to go to Turkey (Ankara) on 10th June then I will go to Pakistan on 20th June 2005, then there I will stay for 70 days, then will be back to Hong Kong.
So I need a more feasible plan no matter is it non stop or not, but I should be cheaper.

thank you, everyone

thank you for your quick response.
A friend of mine told me that as long as a dependent visa is for multiple entry, I should be ok. But the visa sticker and the stamp I got on my passport only say it is valid until the end of this year. I am not sure if it is for multiple entry or for a single entry.
A visa to China seems not a problem for my case.
Thank you very much.

I am loving Hong Kong.

Twinstar,
There is nothing like Single/ Multiple entry dependant visa in Hong Kong. You can simplay move in and out as much as you want.
