Hi! I am looking for information on Kwai Fong MTR Station area. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working/living in this area? Any recommendations on the apartment to live in this area? Thanks! I've been searching the net for information but has not been very successful. Any help/information will be much appreciated.

Kwai Fong is an area with lots of public housing and factories.

Kwai Fong has a Metropolis Plaza, Kwai Chung Plaza and a lots of public housing and private housing, it is close to industrial bldg (but some has been for office use only). Kwai Fong is very convenient, nearby have MTR to everywhere. Minibus to Kwun Tong only take you half hours. It is also close to police station and Princess Margaret hospital.

The rental is cheap compared with HK Island of course. I'm working in Kwai Fong and live close to there. Anything you want to know just ask me.

Mon - what is the average rent for an apartment for single in Kwang Fong area? Are there other public facilities (e.g., library, bookstores, gym, swimming pool) within close proximity in that area?

I think about $3000-$4000 for 350-400 sq. feet flat. The closer library is in Kwai Hing ( 1 MTR station) or Mei Foo (2 MTR stations), the swimming pool is also located at Mei Foo, may be you can go to Tsing Yi, by minibus only $3 and 15-20 min. Have a bookstore at Metropolis Plaza and there is a sport ground opposite to the plaza. BTW, there are so many restaurants around Kwai Fong, Chinese, Japanese, Western, Mexico, fast food. Also, have a cinema etc. Hope this is useful.

You may want to consider to live in Mei Foo because it is close to library, bookstores, gym, swimming pool and park.
