Exclamation Serviced Apartments Feedback Please

Greetings!!

I will be moving to HK next week and have arranged accomodation for the following week. To check everything out before renting an apartment, I'd like to stay in a serviced apartment for a little bit. Any suggestions or feedback from you guys?
This website has been very helpful already, but I'd still like some opinions. I will be working in Tsim Sha Tsui and I am looking for something clean, affordable and convenient. I am thinking about Causeway Bay, Wan Chai or Happy Valley.

All help is greatly appreciated! Many Thanks in advance!

Baron is an unknown quantity at this point.
When we first arrived, we stayed in Central at a serviced appartment called 'Central 88' on DesVoeux Rd. They were pretty good as far as convenience to MTR etc...

What about $$$? Did it include management fees, utilities etc.? Thanks Baron!
Also, what will be the easiest/ cheapest way to get a mobile in HK?! Will need to make calls to Canada and Europe.

easy easy...

I would sign a contract though. For 100 - 200 HK$ you get so many minutes included and you might not be able to use them all. Just buy an international phone card. You will have a local access number and can always use your mobile to call to Europe and Canada. And it is really not expensive...

Regarding a serviced appartement... I used to live in Harbour Plaza North Point for a few weeks, only away 1 min from Quarry Bay MTR. Rooms etc. are really nice, prices start at 10000 HK$ I guess. And you also get a discount card and can always enjoy food with a 50% discount, thats quite nice.

Have a look at Pinnacle also

If you like the place, staying on Kowloon side would save you a little time and money as well....

Thanks for the websites - they look quite nice. Are serviced apt. in Kowloon in general cheaper? At this point I am not so picky regarding the location yet, but saving money is always nice.

DaveD - regarding a contract for a cell: having moved to different countries before, I had trouble getting a contract due to not having any credit history etc. You say it's no problem in HK? Can you recommend any providers? Thanks!!!

I always assumed Kowloon is cheaper than HK Island but then I suppose it depends on the service apartment. My other half stayed at the Gateway which is why I mentioned it.

Thanks Sazzy. Under normal circumstances, can they just be called or should bookings be made in advance?
